Airlines announce new service to Las Vegas

Two airlines on Tuesday announced new scheduled air service to Las Vegas.

AeroMexico will begin twice-weekly, nonstop flights between Las Vegas and Mexico City beginning Thursday.

In a statement, the airline said Las Vegas is among the top destinations for Mexico residents. AeroMexico already offers weekly flights between Las Vegas and Monterrey, Mexico.

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air also announced new service.

In May, Allegiant will begin twice-weekly service between Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Mich., and McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

The flights will be offered Monday and Friday and to launch the service Allegiant is offering $99 one-way fares.
