Authorities find second youth camp runaway
The second 17-year-old boy who ran away from the youth camp on Mount Charleston Thursday was taken into custody Monday in the northwest Las Vegas Valley, according to Clark County officials.
The two juveniles ran away from the Spring Mountain Youth Camp on Thursday.
The other 17-year-old was apprehended Friday afternoon in the northwest valley, officials said.
Police and county officials were originally worried that the two may have been in serious trouble due to bad weather in the area where temperatures dipped below freezing on Friday.
The camp, which houses boys ages 12-18 who have been “adjudicated for delinquent acts” by a juvenile court, is located near Angel’s Peak in the Spring Mountains at elevation of about 8,470 feet.
