Candidate for top job at Southern Nevada Health District withdraws
The man pegged to be the Southern Nevada Health District’s next chief health officer has withdrawn his application, the district announced in a statement Tuesday.
Dr. Thomas Coleman withdrew his application due to personal family issues, the statement said.
A meeting of the health district’s board is scheduled for Aug. 15 according to the statement.
Coleman was the director of the Volusia County Health Department in Daytona Beach, Fla. where he managed and directed several community programs, environmental health programs, and a variety of clinical public health services.
Lawrence Sands, former chief health officer, resigned in June 2012.
