Chinese tourists killed in bus crash identified
KINGMAN, Ariz. — The two Chinese tourists who were killed in an Oct. 17 mini-bus crash in northwest Arizona on Oct. 17 were Keer Huang, 46, and Qin Peng, 44, hometowns undisclosed, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday.
Eight other visitors from China were injured when the tour bus drifted off a road and rolled once before coming to rest on its wheels. They were transported to hospitals in Las Vegas and Kingman for treatment.
Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said the bus driver and tour guide were not hurt in the accident.
She said the bus was transporting the visitors from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon West Sky Walk, a tourist attraction operated by the Hualapai Indian Tribe.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Don Bischoff said the ongoing investigation has not revealed any mechanical failures or issues with the bus operated by California-based TBE International Inc.
Bischoff said the investigation, once it’s completed, will be forwarded to the county attorney’s office for review.
