Downtown nightlife scene thriving with new bars, lounges

The growing nightlife scene downtown in the East Fremont entertainment district and the 18b Las Vegas Arts District is earning recognition as one of the city’s hippest places to mix, mingle, see and be seen. The two progressive areas have one important common feature:

Bars are clustered close enough to walk from one to another. This pedestrian-friendly atmosphere creates a distinct urban vibe geared toward locals that is unmatched elsewhere in Las Vegas.

Within a single block, revelers have the opportunity to saunter freely among Downtown Cocktail Room, Maharajah Hookah Café, Vanguard, The Griffin, Beauty Bar, Don’t Tell Mama, The Beat Coffeehouse and the most recent addition to the streetscape, Insert Coin(s), an innovative bar concept that features arcade and video games.

Roughly a mile south, new urban lounges are popping up in the Arts District. The first to open, Bar+Bistro @ the Arts Factory, is a casual spot that opens onto a courtyard, where regular gatherings include open mic poetry and music events, movie screenings and even the occasional roasting of a pig.

Just next door is Artifice Bar & Lounge, featuring DJs and live music amid quirky artistic décor.

Nearby, Downtown Vintage Guitars is a guitar shop and bar that will soon expand to become a full service lounge. At its weekly open mic nights, guests are invited to test out the spectacular guitars in front of an audience and can make purchases at any time.

Finally, the Lady Silvia urban lounge is set to open late May in Soho Lofts.
