Dozens of homes evacuated after substance found
Las Vegas police officers who were checking on the welfare of a child at a northwest valley home discovered what authorities called a “suspicious substance,” prompting the evacuation of 60 homes in the area Thursday night.
Those in the home, at the 7600 block of Adornment Court, near Buffalo Drive and Farm Road, were unharmed.
The evacuations were a precaution. The substance, which was not narcotics-related, was not a threat, police said.
