Three light poles were downed after a driver crashed a vehicle in the central valley and then fled the scene, police said.
The Metropolitan Police Department said a crash on West Sahara Avenue and Edmond Street occurred at about 2:20 p.m. and three light poles were taken down. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash, and the driver fled the scene, Metro Lt. Jeff Goodwin said.
Soon after the crash, “good samaritan citizens” apprehended the driver near the scene of the crash and held him until police officers were able to arrest the man, Goodwin said.
The driver, who was not identified, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges relating to driving under the influence and will likely face additional charges, Goodwin said.
