Fatal pickup crash knocks out power

SPARKS — The driver in a fatal pickup crash knocked out power for thousands of houses and businesses. Police say the 24-year-old California man was ejected from the truck, which drifted off a road, spun around, hit a power pole and rolled over.

NV Energy Inc. said the accident early Saturday knocked out power to 6,856 houses, businesses and other users in Sparks for an hour and a half.
