Henderson slaying probed
A 23-year-old man was shot inside a townhouse Tuesday morning and later died at the hospital, Henderson police said.
Police did not release the name of the man, but determined he died as a result of a homicide.
Police said they were called about 10:30 a.m. to a home at 1650 Coyote Run Drive, near Arroyo Grande Boulevard and American Pacific Drive.
Police said that the homeowners had discovered the wounded man, who did not live at the home. The homeowners were not home when the shooting occurred.
The man was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus, where he died, police said. As of Tuesday evening, no arrests were made in connection with the slaying.
The homicide occurred in a neighborhood of stucco townhouses with neatly manicured lawns. One neighbor, who did not want to be named, said trash cans still lined the block Tuesday evening because police combed through them looking for the weapon.
