IN BRIEF

HELD ON BAIL

Clark County attorney arrested on charges of theft, burglary

A Clark County attorney was arrested by Las Vegas police Tuesday on charges related to the misappropriation of hundreds of thousands of dollars of a client’s money.

Ronald Serota, 46, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of felony theft and two counts of burglary. He is being held on $13,000 bail.

The charges stem from the accusation that Serota misappropriated $319,000 from an unidentified client’s trust account last year. He reported himself to the State Bar of Nevada, admitting he mishandled the funds, he told the Review-Journal in December.

The state bar temporarily revoked his license and turned the case over to Las Vegas police.
