Wildfire contained near Gardnerville
Authorities say a 10-acre wildfire off U.S. Highway 395 near Gardnerville in Northern Nevada has been fully contained.
Douglas County fire investigators say they believe lightning sparked the Spring Valley fire about 3:30 p.m. Saturday near Leviathan Mine Road.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened or damaged while flames burned through pinion pine, juniper and brush.
Highway 395 was closed for several hours when fire burned within about a quarter mile of the road.

Authorities say the man was taken into custody about 5:30 a.m. Monday after a chase involving the Nevada Highway Patrol and sheriff’s deputies from Pershing and Churchill counties.
The man’s name wasn’t released by authorities.
Authorities say troopers spotted a vehicle sought in the pre-dawn robbery on Interstate 80 in Pershing County and chased it when the driver failed to stop.
The man stopped near mile marker 72 in Churchill County and ran into the desert before he was apprehended just north of I-80.
RENO INCIDENT
Two men sought in shootout with guard
Reno police say they’re looking for two men who escaped after a shootout with an armed security guard who told investigators he interrupted a possible vehicle break-in.
Police say 16 shots were exchanged in the gunfire about 3:35 a.m. Monday on Wedekind Road.
The security guard wasn’t wounded.
The guard told police the gunman kept shooting from a silver or gold four-door sedan as it drove away after at least one vehicle was burglarized.
