Woman found dead in murder-suicide ID’d
The woman found dead June 2 in a murder-suicide at the Country Club Shadows apartments on Desert Inn Road near Paradise Road has been identified as 45-year-old Beverly Olivia Dorsey of Las Vegas.
She died of blunt force trauma to her head, the Clark County coroner’s office said.
A man also was found dead in the apartment. He was identified as 61-year-old John Welton Porter of Las Vegas. His cause of death has not been determined.
The bodies were found about 2 p.m. June 2 by police, who stopped by the apartment after receiving a call from a man who was concerned because a colleague had missed work for three weeks.
Officers looked inside the window and saw a body on the bathroom floor. Police were unsure how long the two people had been dead.

Pedestrian who died in accidents ruled at fault
The pedestrian who died after being struck by two cars while crossing a street illegally on Sunday has been identified as 58-year-old Michael Francis Steinberg, his hometown unknown.
Steinberg darted into Charleston Boulevard near Westwood Drive, in front of University Medical Center, about 11 p.m. He was outside of the marked crosswalk, said Las Vegas police.
Two cars were in the center lane westbound on Charleston. Steinberg was first struck by Daniel Santana-Bastida, 25, who was driving a 1996 Saturn.
Steinberg was then hit by a 1993 Nissan Sentra driven by 19-year-old Mia Camarote.
Steinberg was at fault in the incident, according to police.

Man shot, killed after argument identified
The man who was shot and killed Saturday after confronting a group of men he suspected of robbing him has been identified as 25-year-old Antonio Mooney of Las Vegas.
Mooney arrived at his apartment at 1555 Balzar Ave., near Lake Mead and Martin Luther King boulevards, and found his door kicked in and his apartment robbed.
Las Vegas police said Mooney suspected a group of three or four men outside his apartment of robbing him. He approached the men, an argument began, and Mooney was shot in the back about 9:30 p.m., police said.

Man found dead in alley identified
A man found dead in an alley on Saturday afternoon near Flamingo and Paradise roads has been identified as 37-year-old Sergio Quezada of Las Vegas.
Officers were called to the scene at 497 Kolson Circle about 4:30 p.m. by a man who saw Quezada’s body from his apartment window.
The man, who had a gunshot wound to his back, was dead when Las Vegas police arrived.
