Million dollar madness

OK, office poolers. Your season has arrived. Even if you’ve never heard of Wofford or Gonzaga, you can still take a shot at the picking the winners in the NCAA college basketball tournament.

Reviewjournal.com is offering two contests, each with a possible Million Dollar prize. Just pick all the winners over the course of the tournament and you’ll pocket the dough. Never mind that nobody has ever had a crystal ball that resulted in an error-free bracket. There’s always a first time, right? There are other prizes, too, so don’t fret if there’s an upset, or two, along the way.

In the round by round bracket contest, players pick the winners of each match-up, then must log on and pick the winners for each round of games. The good thing with this one, is picking a losing team doesn’t kill your entire bracket, as you have a chance to stay alive through the finals. Of course, the more winners you pick, the higher your score.

In the all-at-once contest, players complete the entire bracket prior to tip-off of the first round of games. The down side here is that a bad pick early in the tournament can zap your bracket, or at least your picks from one or more of the regions.

If you’ve played in our games in the past, you may already be registered. Try your username and password to get started. You’ll need to verify your details, then start picking. New players must register, which takes only minutes, then you’re ready to start picking! Each of the games lets players set up groups, which makes it easy to manage office pools.

Get started with both contests on the reviewjournal.com home page, then scroll down to the Contests and Promotions area. Look for the "Round by Round College Hoops Hysteria" contest, sponsored by Discount Tire and the "Bracket Contest – College Hoops Hysteria," sponsored by Big Dogs.

The shot clock starts Thursday, so don’t wait too long to make your picks!
