NEON TUESDAY

Minus the Bear’s textured, tempestuous pop is as deceptive as it is terminally catchy.

On one level, the band’s well-manicured tunes fly by on quicksilver melodies and winsome hooks, but beneath all of the come-hither harmonies are surprisingly elaborate arrangements and some knotty six-string acrobatics that lend to a progressive edge to this Seattle bunch. Seriously, these dudes could kick your butt at “Guitar Hero.”
