Obama nominates Bogden for Nevada U.S. Attorney
President Barack Obama has nominated former Nevada U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden, who was ousted in a controversial move during the Bush administration, to retain his old post.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid had recommended to the White House that Bogden get his old job back.
Reid said earlier this year that Greg Brower, who currently holds the post, has done a fine job. But Reid said Bogden deserves to be reappointed to the post, which was taken from him more than two years ago in a firing that was never fully explained.
Bogden was one of four nominees named today by Obama.
“These fine men and women have demonstrated the extensive knowledge of the law and deep commitment to public service Americans deserve from their United States Attorneys,” Obama said.
