Official: Ex-Oakland transit officer is arrested in Nevada
OAKLAND, Calif. — A former transit police officer who is alleged to have shot and killed an unarmed man on an Oakland train platform on New Year’s Day was arrested Tuesday in Nevada, a jail official said.
A Douglas County jail official confirmed that 27-year-old Johannes Mehserle was in custody under a fugitive warrant issued in California.
