Later, during that same City Council meeting, Mayor Oscar Goodman had trouble recording a vote.

“There is something wrong with my machine,” he said, referring to the buttons council members push to vote yes or no. “I am pressing it with all my might.

“I’m going to put my fist through it soon.”

It’s not clear what the result of that action would’ve been because Robert’s Rules of Order is silent on the topic of punching voting equipment.

At first glance, the broken down car on Rancho Drive just south of U.S. Highway 95 Thursday appeared to be a campaign stunt for officer Laurie Bisch, who is running for Clark County sheriff.

A large “Bisch for Sheriff” sign was strategically placed in the trunk for all motorists to see while the driver waited for her roadside service to arrive near the busy intersection.

The woman turned out to be a Bisch campaign worker. A very dedicated one.

Stavros Anthony opposed the idea of a new Las Vegas city hall when he was running for the City Council, and he voted against it once in office.

But he was there with fellow council members at the ceremony to top off the building with the final beam in its metal skeleton.

“Councilman Anthony was a little bit of a holdout,” Goodman noted. “But when he heard that there was going to be free food, he came around.”

The food in question was barbecue, which begs a question: Is there a meal in this world that could get Anthony to support the Mob Museum?
