Review-Journal wins Best of the West award
The Review-Journal has taken first place in Best of the West’s Explanatory Journalism category. The professional journalism contest is recognized as the West’s most prestigious.
“The Las Vegas Review-Journal performed a significant public service with its exhaustive probe of a local endoscopy clinic linked to an outbreak of hepatitis C that resulted in the largest patient notification of its kind in history,” the contest Web site states.
Recognized individually were staff writers Annette Wells, Paul Harasim, Jennifer Robison, Brian Haynes and John Przybys.
The Best of the West contest is designed to reward journalistic excellence and to promote freedom of information. It is administered by First Amendment Funding Inc., an Arizona nonprofit corporation.
