Senator thinks he will fully recover from his cancer
State Sen. John Lee, D-North Las Vegas, said he is making a full recovery from his cancer of the nasal cavity, a life-threatening condition he was diagnosed with last year.
The lawmaker spoke in a television interview scheduled to be broadcast today.
“I think I’m healed from cancer at this time,” Lee, 53, told Sam Shad, host of “Nevada NewsMakers,” in a previously taped interview.
“I know they say you have to wait five years (to be considered cancer-free after treatment), but I took my last radiation shot on December 5. I’ve had no more chemo, I’m growing my hair out now. My taste buds and my saliva glands aren’t back yet, but I’m in full health again.”
