Shareholders of Sierra Pacific Resources vote to change name to NV Energy Inc.

Shareholders of Sierra Pacific Resources voted today to change the name of the electric utility holding company to NV Energy Inc.

Shares of the company, which operates subsidiaries Nevada Power Co. and Sierra Pacific Power Co. now doing business as NV Energy, will start trading with the symbol NVE on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday.
