Sites open for voter registration
Those who want to vote in the general election have until Saturday to register at locations other than the Clark County elections offices.
After Saturday, residents have 10 days to register at the two county elections offices.
“Voting is the foundation of our government, but you can’t vote if you are not registered,” said Larry Lomax, county registrar of voters, in a written statement.
The county is offering voter registration drives at four area malls from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
Voter applications will be taken at: the Las Vegas Outlet Center, 7400 Las Vegas Blvd. South; the Boulevard Mall, 3528 S. Maryland Parkway; the Galleria at Sunset mall, 1300 W. Sunset Road, Henderson; and the Meadows mall, 4300 Meadows Lane.
Also on Saturday, the two elections offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Sunday, they will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
One office is at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. The other is at 965 Trade Drive, Suite A, North Las Vegas.
The offices will have extended hours through Oct. 14. Those are: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oct. 6-9. And 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 10-14.
People who want to check to see whether they are registered to vote can do so on the Election Department’s Web site at www.accessclarkcounty.com/elections or call 455-VOTE.
