Small plane crash kills two
SAN DIEGO — A small plane crash Saturday killed two people in a rural, hilly part of northern San Diego County, authorities said.
State fire Capt. Steve Foster said the single-engine Beech Bonanza 35 crashed off Highway 79 in the Warner Springs area shortly after 1:30 p.m.
Two people on board died. There was no fire, and nobody on the ground was hurt.
Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration said that the plane was registered to a Las Vegas resident but that it had departed from Chino.
It was unclear where it was heading.
Warner Springs has a gliderport, but Foster said he didn’t know whether the plane was being used to tow a glider.
The crash occurred about 40 miles northeast of San Diego.
