Suspect in strip club shooting held

The man accused of seriously injuring a bouncer at a strip club attended by NFL star Adam “Pacman” Jones during a February 2007 shooting was extradited from Washington to the Clark County Detention Center this week, jail records show.

Arvin Edwards, 29, of Renton, was in custody in Yakima County since March 17 on a charge unrelated to the shooting. He was booked into Clark County Jail on Wednesday.

Edwards is being charged with three counts of attempted murder with a weapon and three counts of battery with substantial bodily harm for his alleged role in the Minxx nightclub assault.

He is slated to be arraigned today in Las Vegas justice court. He had been held at the Washington jail for a domestic violence case.

The Feb. 19, 2007, shooting during NBA All-Star weekend in Las Vegas left bouncer Tom Urbanski paralyzed from the waist down.

Authorities said Jones started a fight early in the morning inside the strip club at 4636 Wynn Road, near Arville Street and Tropicana Avenue, after he threw hundreds of dollars onto the stage for a visual effect known as “making it rain.”

The shooting occurred outside the club after Jones and his entourage had been kicked out. Urbanski along with another club employee and patron of the club were shot.

Police said early in the investigation they believed the shooter was a Jones associate.

Jones entered a plea agreement in which he agreed to testify against Edwards.
