Suspicious van sought in attempted student kidnapping
North Las Vegas police are looking for two Hispanic men in the attempted kidnapping of a 12-year-old girl near Von Tobel Middle School Wednesday morning.
The girl told police she was walking to school about 8 a.m. when a maroon Chevrolet van approached her near Las Vegas Boulevard and Pecos Road. A Hispanic man, about 30 years old, opened the door and ordered the girl to get in the van, according to police.
The girl ran to her school and notified police.
In addition to the man who tried to coerce her into the van, the girl told police she saw a Hispanic man driving and two teenage girls in the vehicle.
