The Shade Tree hosting walk to raise funds
The Shade Tree will host a pre-Mother’s Day Walk of Hope on Saturday to raise funds for the downtown shelter for homeless women and children.
The “family fun walk” will begin at 9 a.m. at Children’s Memorial Park, 6601 W. Gowan Road, near Rainbow Boulevard.
Registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children under 12.
Proceeds go to The Shade Tree, which provides shelter, food and clothing to more than 3,000 homeless women and 1,000 homeless children each year.
