LETTER: Harry Reid and the nation’s fiscal health

Harry Reid entered Congress as a member of the House of Representatives in January 1983. The national debt was $1.37 trillion, 37 percent of our gross domestic product. He left Congress as Senate minority leader in January 2017. The national debt was $20.24 trillion, 104 percent of our GDP. Please remember this fact when you sing your praises of Harry Reid.
