Bigbie’s offense fuels 51s’ win
Larry Bigbie had three hits Thursday night to raise his batting average to .385 in leading the 51s to a 6-1 Pacific Coast League victory over the Portland Beavers in Portland, Ore.
Bigbie homered, doubled and singled in four at-bats as Las Vegas captured the opener of the four-game series and made a winner of starting pitcher Miguel Pinango (2-0), who went six innings.
