Coronado remains unbeaten in Southeast Division boys volleyball
Eric Boman had 15 kills and four blocks as Coronado beat visiting Basic 27-29, 25-17, 27-25, 25-19 to remain undefeated in the Southeast Division.
Chris Austin had 15 kills and two blocks, and Jesse Houchens had eight kills and two blocks for the Cougars (12-0 Southeast).
Basic’s Daniel Bowman had 22 kills and six digs. Jared Mackelprang had eight kills and six digs, and Anthony Gambone had 24 assists for the Wolves (10-2 Southeast).
• Canyon Springs 3, Rancho 1 — At Rancho, Kapahu Kahalepo had 11 kills and three blocks to lift the Pioneers to a 25-19, 20-25, 25-17, 25-13 win.
Ray Esteves had 30 assists and three blocks for Canyon Springs. Jacob Houghtailing added eight kills and three blocks, and Nate Lewis had seven kills and five digs for the Pioneers.
DeJon Bowman paced the Rams with eight kills and eight blocks. J.B. Drury added nine kills and five blocks, and Varun Kaushal had seven kills for Rancho.
• Valley 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, David Michaels had five kills, six aces and three digs, and Jimmy Videaux had 19 assists and three aces to lead the Vikings over the Cowboys, 25-15, 25-12, 25-13.
Alonzo Blount added four kills for Valley. Chaparral’s Nick Wolbach had seven assists, LeAndre Dunbar had five kills and DeAndre Marshall had three kills.
• Desert Pines 3, Eldorado 0 — At Desert Pines, Paul Burns had 15 kills and 10 aces to lead the Jaguars past the Sundevils, 25-6, 25-28, 25-19.
Charlie Smith added 12 kills, and Jose De La Cruz had 12 aces and 25 assists for Desert Pines.
Jesse Whinery, Bronson Purdy and Tyler Kizzac each had four kills for Eldorado.
• Durango 3, Clark 1 — At Clark, Darren Torrie dished out 38 assists to help Durango to a 22-25, 29-27, 25-12, 25-21 win over the Chargers.
Frank Keil had 16 kills for the Trailblazers, and Velmin Husic and Mark Brautigam each added 10 kills.
Ronnie Corcuera had 25 assists for Clark. Carlo DeSantis added nine kills, Chris Henriksen had six kills. Andrew Kanagin had five kills and three blocks for the Chargers.
• Bonanza 3, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Bonanza, Dallin Hyer had 12 kills, Matt Vu had six kills and Jesse Mackay had 21 assists to lead the Bengals over the Gaels, 25-16, 25-15, 25-23.
Gorman’s Alex Turner had 10 kills and five blocks, and Kamana Kaimikaua added 16 assists and eight kills for the Gaels.
• Sierra Vista 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Sierra Vista, the Lions posted a 25-13, 25-16, 23-25, 25-16 win over Spring Valley.
