Florida coach Jim McElwain said he regrets berating Kelvin Taylor after the Gators running back received a personal foul for making a throat-slashing gesture in Saturday’s 31-24 win over East Carolina.
During a profanity-laced tirade caught on video, McElwain screamed at Taylor, “Look at me! Don’t look down! (Expletive) be a man! You let your (expletive) team down! That’s (expletive) bull (expletive)! And you think it’s (expletive) OK!”
During his Monday news conference, McElwain said he received a tongue-lashing of his own for his behavior: “I’m not proud of it, and neither is my mother. At 94 years old, I got an earful from her.”
