Sports Betting Spotlight: Indianapolis Colts season preview

The Review-Journal’s Matt Youmans, Las Vegas handicapper Kelly Stewart and Golden Nugget sports book director Tony Miller preview the Colts’ season in the 20th of a series of 32 NFL team videos:

  • Andrew Luck was unfortunate last season, limited to seven games because of a shoulder injury and lacerated kidney. He returns as the highest-paid player in NFL history after signing a six-year, $140 million contract. But he will be working behind one of the league’s worst offensive lines.
  • Are the Colts still AFC title contenders? Luck passed for 40 touchdowns in 2014, when Indianapolis finished 11-5. But the team slipped to 8-8 last season and did not make many significant additions.
  • The Indianapolis defense is already hurting. Pro Bowl cornerback Vontae Davis might miss the first month with an ankle injury.
  • The Colts need a strong start with three of their first five games at home against soft opponents (Lions, Chargers and Bears.)
  • Over or Under 9 regular-season wins?
