Musical Grace – Tepid chalk in a dull opener to an exciting card; very slow field for this class level.
Long Shot – Lisa Lulu
Race 2 – 5 furlongs (turf, 14 feet), Purse $54,000, Optional claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
Pack Your Bags – Like the turn back in distance and the drop in class; Rafael Bejarano hugs the wood and grinds late.
Ifitwasntfor Texas – Florida shipper debuts for Mike Mitchell; ran good speed figures as a turf sprint specialist at Calder.
Long Shot – Bradium
Race 3 – 6 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Warren’s Tommy Too – P Val had options and lands here for Jorge Gutierrez; figures to stalk and pounce in the lane.
Pride of Wilshire – Favorite figures to try wire-to-wire tactics under Joel Rosario; ran a winning race last time in defeat.
Long Shot – Peanut Butter Boy
Race 4 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 14 feet), $250,000 Del Mar Mile Handicap, 3-year-olds and up
Bruce’s Dream – He is 3-for-3 wins over Del Mar sod; flattered when Colgan’s Chip won wire to wire next out.
Enriched – He seems to run better with a target to chase; expect Joel Rosario to take back a few lengths early on.
Long Shot – Meteore
Race 5 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $50,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
Shu Biz Danny – Was flattered when Cee’s Pryme won next out; Robert Troeger barn has done well with limited starters.
Crestatorre – Showed solid improvement in second career start; expect Victor Espinoza to fire early and hold on late.
Long Shot – The Unusual One

Where’s The Remote – Sharp win points this guy out as an up and comer; was his turf debut and may have discovered something.
Concerto’s Thunder – Just missed in last to a solid runner in Derive; like Garrett Gomez taking over for the money shot.
Long Shot – Hughesy
Race 7 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $50,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
Switzers Da Man – You’ll have a big edge over me in seeing the tote on the FTS; expect action from West Point Thoroughbreds.
Miles Long Gone – This FTS is the morning-line favorite; bullet works, P Val and the maestro Jerry Hollendorfer.
Long Shot – Hollywood Heist
Race 8 – 1 1/4 miles, $1,000,000 Pacific Classic, 3-year-olds and up
Hold Me Back – Bill Mott rarely ships to Del Mar unless his guns are loaded; this is the epitome of a synthetic specialist.
Richard’s Kid – Defending champion got 2 prep races in and should be on the screws; karma with jockey Mike Smith, too.
Long Shot – Awesome Gem
Race 9 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 14 feet), Purse $57,000, Optional claiming $25,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Thisoneforyou – Has improved with every start for Mike Mitchell; tries turf for the first time, has the Candy Ride pedigree.
Sandy Cheeks – Must draw in but is a danger if she does; dead-late closer will see a positive pace scenario.
Long Shot – Magic Launch
Race 10 – 7 furlongs, $300,000 Pat O’Brien, 3-year-olds and up
Smiling Tiger – He has gotten better and better for Jeff Bonde; suspect he may try to sit just off Tropic Storm early.
Crown of Thorns – He may be the most talented horse in the field; key is he’s been away 10 months since the Breeders’ Cup.
Long Shot – El Brujo
Race 11 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $50,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
California Nectar – Strong debut, if she improves one step she’ll win; end of a sensational day of horse racing.
Pleasing Sunrise – Bumped early losing all chance in debut; suspect will improve especially with Joel Rosario up.
