Conclave – Favorite is the most dangerous play in racing, lone speed; will take come catching tonight.
Forest Phantom – His closing style makes him the victim of pace; the chalk appears to be lone speed.
Long Shot – Stand Tall
Race 2 – 6 furlongs, Purse $46,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Screen Gem – Been away 8-months, returns in the barn of John Shirreffs; was well regarded as a 2-YO.
Candace Gold – FTS gets the services of Rafael Bejarano; all the starters with experience have holes.
Long Shot – Black Magic Mama
Race 3 – 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 20 feet), Purse $50,000, Allowance, 3-year-olds and up
My King – Speed is always dangerous; with the turf rail out 20 feet, he may be able to carry it a long way.
Gothic Samurai – Interesting invader figures to receive a lot of betting; meant to be a good one.
Long Shot – Concerto’s Thunder
Race 4 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $46,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Camille C – 3-for-3 in the money in her brief career; facing a soft group, today may be her day.
Gambling Pokerface – Sure to be overlooked with low percentage connections; should be closing.
Long Shot – Shine’n Time
Race 5 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $33,000, Claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
Yankee Visionary – Has a strong late kick; he’ll look for pace to chase, his race two back was a corker.
Roi Charmant – Won twice for Alonso Quinonez, gets replaced by Rafael Bejarano; the speed to catch.
Long Shot – Northern Soldier
Race 6 – 7 furlongs, $150,000 A Gleam Handicap, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Lovely Isle – Jeff Mullins takes over for Bobby Frankel, who is dispersing much of his stable.
Silver Swallow – 7 furlongs is one of the toughest distances to go wire to wire; I like closer like this to win.
Long Shot – Lady Lumberjack
Race 7 – 6 furlongs, Purse $52,000, Optional claiming $62,500, 3-year-olds and up
Tenga Cat – Been away one year, but proven as a turf sprinter; will be helped by the turf rail out 20 feet.
New Bay – Was overmatched last time in the San Felipe; tries turf for the first time, should like it.
Long Shot – Cape Truth
Race 8 – 1 1/8th miles, $300,000 Swaps, 3-year-olds
Grazen – Appears to be the lone speed, the best bet in horse racing; plays catch me if you can.
Misremembered – Bob Baffert charge is improving with each start; tactical speed to clock the chalk Grazen.
Long Shot – Massone
Race 9 – 6 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Strong Belief – Showed big improvement in last; appears ready to step up and get his picture taken.
Fiery Rebel – If he couldn’t win last time; tactical speed to sit a perfect trip, lacks killer instinct.
