HORSE RACING
TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK
By Richard Eng
Post Time 1 p.m.
Race 1 – 6 furlongs, Purse $23,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds and up
Dubai Rainbow – Just missed last time, now is dropped again in class; is bound to find his comfort level today.
Eisenheim – Another maiden sliding down the claiming ladder; leap of faith in Rafael Bejarano on a live one.
Long Shot – I Want My Money
Race 2 – 5 furlongs (turf), $60,000 El Segundo, 4-year-olds and up
Euroglide – He has a big advantage of recent action; may not be the better horse, but is in good form.
Get Funky – Logical chalk returns from a 7-month hiatus; was last seen in the BC Turf Sprint in Arcadia.
Long Shot – Sky Cape
Race 3 – 4 1/2 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Lover’s House – FTS comes from the red hot tandem of Rafael Bejarano and Doug O’Neill; need not be much.
Miss Dubai – Beaten favorite looks best among those with experience; watch the tote board for clues.
Long Shot – Giveme Tat Ting
Race 4 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds
Phelps Street – Chance to be the speed of the speed in here; one among many taking a big class drop.
Indomitable – Graduated in last, now facing winners for the first time; suspect a stalking ground saving trip.
Long Shot – South of France
Race 5 – 1 mile (turf), Purse $32,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Welken – Tepid chalk in a wide open heat; her two turf tries have both been good, promising grass runner.
Wondrous Event – Just missed a head in this exact condition at Santa Anita; dangerous if she repeats.
Long Shot – That’s Hot
Race 6 – 6 furlongs, Purse $46,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Imforeal – Didn’t run a step in her turf debut; returns to synthetics where she’s fared much better.
Running After Boys – Hot run last time improving a ton over her debut; slight improvement here wins it.
Long Shot – Keep Active
Race 7 – 6 furlongs (turf), Purse $48,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Linda Lou – Has one way of going and that’s fast; Victor Espinoza should play catch me if you can.
Schill – Miserable effort in last going a mile; might be better suited as a closing 1-turn turf sprinter.
Long Shot – Bussell Up
Race 8 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $16,000, Claiming $12,500, 3-year-olds and up
Forest Danz – Interesting finale with lots of in-form horses with back class; value with low percentage jock.
Trilliant – Grinder won one of these two races ago; should see a wicked fast pace for Bejarano to close into.
Long Shot – Mi Rey
Best Bet – Dubai Rainbow (race 1)
