TODAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

Post Time 1 p.m.
Race 1 – 1 mile, Purse $25,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds
Elegant Miss – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; her last was a pretty good effort.
Legs Eleven – Claimed by Mike Mitchell, long one of the best bet angles in SoCal racing; can hook up with the chalk late.
Long Shot – Singita
Race 2 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $52,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Life At Ten – In the money all four of her lifetime starts; grinder may have trouble finding a good target to stalk.
Divine Legacy – Third start off a 5-month hiatus; her lone win came on synthetic, she should be firing fast in the lane.
Long Shot – Inspiration Within
Race 3 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, 4-year-olds and up
James Prior – Tepid chalk in a really ugly looking race; was heavily favored in this $40K class level two races ago.
Forster Hall – If you believe in a key race, then you’ll like this guy; eased in debut, was flattered by those who finished.
Long Shot – Izemine
Race 4 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 30 feet), Allowance, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Summertime – No one in this field likes to win races; like the outside posts going down the hill, turf rail out 30 feet.
North Rodeo – She’s been burning money of late, but faces her own comfort level tonight; Flores can stalk a very fast pace.
Long Shot – Lovehi
Race 5 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $25,000, Claiming $25,000, Fillies, 4-year-olds
Homemade Brew – Steep class drop after running a stinker in a turf route; her synthetic and sprint form are both good.
Flew First Class – From the Brian Koriner barn that is heating up; Bejarano is edging Aaron Gryder as the stable rider.
Long Shot – Jody’s Included
Race 6 – 6 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Lavender Touch – Got hammered in her debut and now we know why; she started slow but flew home when found her best stride.
More Than Music – Pretty good debut from a barn that rarely cranks up their babies; should improve in second career start.
Long Shot – Junior’s Aces
Race 7 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $53,000, Optional claiming $62,500, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Pretty Carina – Was flattered when Royal Taat easily won the Wednesday feature; will like the turf rail out 30 feet.
We Will Rock You – From the deep and talented Christophe Clement barn; will close strongly if the pace is too fast.
Long Shot – Expensive Art
Race 8 – 6 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Maiden claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds
Hasty Trend – Another Mullins baby who showed promise in debut; Gomez had choices and chooses to ride this live one.
Capt. Pike – Slow and steady improvement as he’s knocking on the door; Gary Sherluck barn is very underrated.
Long Shot – Coleville
Best Bet – Elegant Miss (race 1)
Santa Anita Wednesday – Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 16/3/$17.20; Long Shots, 8/3/$20.40; Best Bet, 1/0/$0
Santa Anita Totals – 385/90/$600.60; Long Shots, 196/28/$327.60; Best Bets, 23/12/$52.80
