Got Tobe Rio – Speedball will try to bottom out the field; runs first time tonight for a claiming price.
Liz’s Broom – Weak favorite can save all the ground inside; tactical speed to sit a perfect trip.
Long Shot – Beencaughtcheating
Race 2 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $12,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Utahn – Logical chalk in a very ugly heat; if he runs as fast as he did last time, he’ll beat these.
Fortunate Victory – Lost all chance at the start in last, his first race for a price tag; expect improvement.
Long Shot – Limited Profit
Race 3 – 6 furlongs, Purse $37,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds and up
Tempting Charm – FTS from Brian Koriner who has an uncoupled entry in here; bomber Chantal Sutherland for a price.
Rail Trip – He’ll get anything but a rail trip unless he pops the gate early; been burning it up in the a.m.
Long Shot – Judge Kent
Race 4 – 1 1/16th miles (turf), Purse $34,000, Claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds
Pistol Pete Afleet – Exits a much tougher stakes to face these; should be value with low percentage connections.
Spinning Sound – Tepid chalk draws a bad post for this; is taking a small, but significant, class drop.
Long Shot – Ginobili
Race 5 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $12,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Magna Cum Laude – Ran well first time for a claiming price; shortens up in distance and should prove tough.
Salah – Been away 11-months but returns against a weak group; figures to be grinding hard late.
Long Shot – Premier Issue
Race 6 – 6 furlongs, Purse $12,000, Claiming $12,500, Fillies, 3-year-olds
Sunset Tijuana – Reunited with trainer Mike Mitchell and at a reduced class; Bejarano won on him recently.
Minnow – Speedball figures to bust a gut for the lead; cool night weather should enhance a speed bias.
Long Shot – Stormy Racer
Race 7 – 6 furlongs (turf), Purse $29,000, Claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
Luhuk’s Dancer – Was not impressed by the way he was ridden in last; big rider switch to Rafael Bejarano.
Rabatash – Eastern import makes his SoCal debut; has shown ability on turf and joins the Gallagher barn.
Long Shot – Storm Machine
Race 8 – 7 furlongs, Purse $12,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Clever Caitlyn – Like the turn back in distance and switch from turf; should retain value with Danny Sorenson up.
Scheme – The less starts the better at this bottom class level; subtle class drop and expected improvement.
