Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 – 7 furlongs, Purse $16,000, Claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up
Natural Touch – Like the turn back in distance from routes to elongated sprint; figures to finish fast.
Held Up – Was very wide in last and lost some closing punch; he has excelled at this 7-furlong distance.
Long Shot – Hoist the Sail
Race 2 – 1 mile, Purse $37,000 (turf, rail at 15 feet), Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Magic Launch – Trying two things for the first time; first 2-turn route and grass, showed promise in debut.
Sweet October – Was grinding well late in her two grass races; Jon Court is good at nursing them along.
Long Shot – Kami D B C
Race 3 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $17,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Ashee – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; overcomes the cheap speed.
Slew of Candy – Big improvement in last when dropped to this bottom level; tactical speed to sit a trip.
Long Shot – Warren’s Lisa
Race 4 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $22,000, Starter allowance $40,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Call Aly – Was overmatched last time in the Cinderella; her race 2-back is fast enough to crush these.
Forty Dates – Tepid chalk in a fairly open heat; Martin Garcia saves ground and will come plugging late.
Long Shot – Popular Date
Race 5 – 7 1/2 furlongs, Purse $10,000, Claiming $12,500, 3-year-olds and up
Sandita – Like the turn back in distance from routes to this elongated sprint; Bejarano helps a lot too.
Tenfold – Speedball will try to stretch his energy at this tough distance; key will be the internal fractions.
Long Shot – Red Hot Flame
Race 6 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $17,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Rev Her Up – Her last race, if repeated, is fast enough to beat these; shortens up slightly in distance.
Jaylo’s Mark – Not a bad debut from parking lot post 12; Jeff Mullins adds blinkers on, could finish well.
Long Shot – Bajan Kitty
Race 7 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $39,000, Allowance, 3-year-olds and up
Serra Song – Could be the best closer in a race packed with early speed; been away 7-months for Mandella.
Antique Avenue – Has run four really good races in 2008; there is high cheese in here to combat with.
Long Shot – South Coast
Race 8 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $13,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Troubletimesthree – Might like the extra distance as a closing sprinter; taken too far back in last race.
El Spaniard – Important class drop to graduate today; beaten favorite is improving with every start.
Long Shot – To The Penny
Best Bet – Rev Her Up (race 6)
