TODAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

Post Time 1 p.m.
Race 1 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $16,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Zee Topper – Spawr has done very well teaming up with the Mig; this claim is well spotted for an immediate ROI.
Real Lift – Key for me is Bejarano remains loyal despite a poor effort in last; gets class relief which will help.
Long Shot – Whatwerewethinking
Race 2 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $27,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, 4-year-olds and up
Carman – May have been a step short in last, costing him the victory; switch to Garcia for the money shot.
Gandolf – Could end up favored due to Gomez picking up the mount; turns back in distance from routes for this.
Long Shot – All Money No Love
Race 3 – 6 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $20,000, 4-year-olds
Band of Thunder – Has tactical speed to sit a perfect trip; has shown nice improvement for a low percentage barn.
Tox Dee Bee – Was overmatched last time down the hillside turf course; class relief and Bejarano give him an edge.
Long Shot – Quinton’s Fleet
Race 4 – 7 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds
Clear the Hall – Peter Miller has two horses entered, I think one of them wins; like the turn back in distance.
Bear Mountain – His biggest problem in both career starts, has been a slow start; good chance if he breaks better.
Long Shot – I Like Blackhawks
Race 5 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $26,000, Starter allowance $40,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds
Love Happens – Been knocking at the door with steady improvement; tactical speed and post to sit a perfect trip.
Havens Lake – You may not recognize the trainer, Ral Ayers, that’s because Jeff Mullins is serving a 90-day suspension.
Long Shot – Quin Non
Race 6 – 6 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds
Haggis Macpherson – Takes a steep class drop and moves from post 12 to inside for this; facing a very slow group.
Sword Legend – Leap of faith that Sadler off the claim and Bejarano aren’t hitched to an empty wagon; need not be much.
Long Shot – Warren’s Tailspin
Race 7 – 1 1/8th miles (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $57,000, Optional claiming $32,000, Cal-breds, 4-year-olds and up
Steven’s Bling – Determined win in last and appears capable of better; saves all the ground inside under Bejarano.
Biran the Bold – Gomez is keeping his foot in the Gallagher barn; dead late closer hurt by the rail out 30 feet.
Long Shot – Super Harmony
Race 8 – 7 furlongs, Purse $17,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 4-year-olds and up
Warren’s Scooter – Beaten favorite must be given another chance with Gomez; tactical speed to sit a perfect trip.
Tracker Jack – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; has been working well for this.
Long Shot – High Investment
Best Bet – Haggis Macpherson (race 6)
