INTERNET ONLY: GREEN VALLEY SOCCER CLINCHES SOUTHEAST TITLE
Ali Schaefer scored on a free kick in the game’s 35th minute to lift Green Valley to a 1-0 road win over Coronado on Thursday.
The victory gives the Gators the Southeast Division championship at 13-1. Coronado finished second at 12-2.
Goalkeeper Megan Grosvenor recorded the shutout for Green Valley.
• Shadow Ridge 3, Arbor View 3 — At Arbor View, Kelsey Tesoro had three goals as the Mustangs tied the Aggies.
Mariah Zeigenbein, Ashlea Andrade and Erica Peeples each had a goal for Arbor View.
• Silverado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Stephanie Campbell, Shelbi Spooner and Taylor Richard each had a goal as the Skyhawks ended a three-game losing streak.
• Basic 1, Liberty 0 — At Basic, Alyssa Melson’s second-half goal gave the Wolves the win over the Patriots.
Cortney Breeden recorded the shutout for Basic.
• Palo Verde 6, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, Kori Jeffries scored twice to lead the Panthers over the Desert Shields.
Eli Null, Ashley Nguyen, Brittany Sak and Kainoa Becker each added a goal for Palo Verde.
Jennifer Ramirez scored both goals for Cheyenne.
• Cimarron-Memorial 9, Mojave 0 — At Cimarron, Jen Salls and Michelle Millen each scored two goals as the Spartans shut out the Rattlers.
Becca Wardle added a goal and three assists, and Jill Masciola recorded the shutout.
• Centennial 7, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Bethanie Skelton and Sophie Krauza each had two goals to help the Bulldogs complete an undefeated regular season (14-0-3).
Riley Bassett added a goal and two assists. Kacey Scarborough and Melanie Stafford also scored.
Jenna Riddle was in goal for the shutout.
• Tech 1, Foothill 0 — At Foothill, Tabitha Temple scored with 15 minutes left in the match to lift the Roadrunners to victory.
Chelsea Fuchs earned the shutout for Tech.
