■ HIGHLIGHTS: At Cashman Field, the 51s (6-5) gained their first home win when Reese Havens lined a bases-loaded, walk-off RBI single to left-center field with two outs in the 11th inning. Coty Woods had walked the bases loaded with one out for the Sky Sox (6-4) before striking out Josh Satin looking. … Las Vegas nearly won in the 10th, but pinch runner Carlos Torres was thrown out at the plate by right fielder Tim Wheeler while trying to score from second on a sharp single by Omar Quintanilla. … Tyler Colvin hit two solo homers for Colorado Springs, the latter tying the game at 4 in the eighth after the 51s’ Juan Lagares led off the seventh with a tiebreaking homer. … Jamie Hoffman hit a three-run homer in the second for the 51s, who had lost their first two at home and four of their last five. … 51s right-hander Zack Wheeler, rated baseball’s No. 8 prospect by mlb.com, allowed three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings, with no walks and eight strikeouts. Reaching 97 mph, he struck out five of the last eight batters he faced and threw 97 pitches, 61 for strikes. Wheeler left with a 3-2 lead in the sixth after allowing a one-out single to Nolan Arenado, who scored on Ben Paulsen’s triple off Justin Hampson. … Wheeler is 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA after three starts, allowing nine runs (six earned) on 17 hits in 14 innings, with six walks and 17 strikeouts. … Arenado, a third baseman who is the Colorado Rockies’ No. 1 prospect as rated by Baseball America, is batting a team-leading .441 with two homers and 11 RBIs.
