Las Vegas Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon, Half Marathon registration opens

Online registration for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon and half marathon has begun, the event organizers announced Tuesday.
The marathon, which is scheduled for Nov. 13, is billed as “the world’s largest nighttime running event.” Last year, more than 45,000 runners participated, racing through the closed down The Strip at night.
The event will kick off with a concert with a headliner that will be announced at a later date before racers run past many Las Vegas landmarks including the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign and the Bellagio’s fountains.
“The experience of running down the Las Vegas Strip at night is unparalleled in the event industry,” event marketing manager Kevin LaRue said in a statement.
Registration for the marathon and half marathon costs $125. The event also has a 5K scheduled for Nov. 12 and a 10K for No. 13, but registration is not yet open for those runs.
