Las Vegan Hieron signs with UFC, will face Ellenberger at UFC 151
Las Vegan Jay Hieron was signed Wednesday by the Ultimate Fighting Championship and will face welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger at UFC 151 on Sept. 1 at Mandalay Bay .
Josh Koscheck was due to fight Ellenberger, but he suffered an injury in training and was forced to pull out of the fight.
Hieron is 0-2 in the UFC, but he hasn’t competed in the organization since 2005. The 36-year-old has won 11 of his last 12 fights and owns a 2006 win over Ellenberger in an International Fight League bout.
