UFC lightweight contender Ferguson finally gets shot at former champ dos Anjos

Tony Ferguson has been angling for a shot at Rafael dos Anjos for some time and he will finally get the matchup he has coveted.

There just won’t be a title on the line.

Ferguson and dos Anjos will meet on Nov. 5 in Mexico City in the main event of “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 3” finale card.

Dos Anjos lost the lightweight belt to Eddie Alvarez on July 8 at the MGM Grand. Ferguson has been lobbying for a title shot as he is in the midst of an eight-fight winning streak.

A win over the former champion would make it very difficult for the UFC to deny him that opportunity much longer.

Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin are coaching teams of lightweights on the current season of the reality show. The season champion will be crowned on the same card.
