NHL AWARDS: Ducks’ Perry adds to hardware haul

At 26, Corey Perry already has won a Stanley Cup (2007, Anaheim) and an Olympic gold medal (2010, Canada).
The Ducks right wing added a Hart Memorial Trophy to his impressive collection of hockey hardware Wednesday at the NHL Awards show at The Pearl inside the Palms.
Perry is the first player in Anaheim’s 18-year franchise history to win the award, which is presented to the league’s Most Valuable Player.
He garnered 67 first-place votes among the 126 ballots cast and tallied 1,043 points to edge Vancouver Canucks left wing Daniel Sedin, who received 51 first-place votes and 960 points.
Perry is the third player from a California team to win the Hart Trophy, joining Joe Thornton (San Jose Sharks, 2006) and Wayne Gretzky (Los Angeles Kings, 1989).
