Chris Davis tried to supply some fireworks for the Baltimore Orioles on Independence Day weekend, but was robbed of home runs on both the Fourth of July and Sunday.
Baltimore was trailing 3-2 in the top of the ninth in Chicago on Saturday when White Sox right fielder Avisail Garcia leapt high and reached back over the wall to take away what would have been a game-tying blast by Davis.
It was J.B. Shuck’s turn on Sunday as the Chicago left fielder leapt high and reached over the wall to rob Davis of a homer in the middle of Baltimore’s 9-1 win.
