Scarlet/Gray event celebrates UNLV basketball

A crowd of about 5,000 turned out Thursday night at the Thomas & Mack Center to celebrate the start of another UNLV men’s basketball season and to get a look at the Rebels’ newcomers. The Scarlet/Gray Showcase also featured a slam dunk contest and a look at the women’s basketball team.
