Steelheads pound Wranglers, 6-3
Eric Lampe and Geoff Paukovich scored in the third period, but it was too little much too late for the Wranglers in a 6-3 loss to the Idaho Steelheads on Friday at Orleans Arena.
Idaho (15-5-0-2) raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and extended it to 4-0 early in the second. Chris Francis scored on a power-play goal for the Wranglers (7-10-0-3) to cut the lead to 4-1, but the Steelheads answered, held off the third-period rally and tacked on an empty-net goal.
The Wranglers host the Stockton Thunder at 7:05 p.m. today.
