UNLV’s VanMeetren claims Mountain West baseball honor
UNLV sophomore catcher Erik VanMeetren was named Mountain West baseball player of the week.
VanMeetren, who attended Bishop Gorman High School, helped the Rebels go 4-0, including a three-game home sweep of San Diego State. For the week, VanMeetren was 8-for-16 with seven RBIs and six runs scored, and he drew four walks.
