UNLV junior forward Ben Carter is likely out for the rest of the basketball season with a torn left anterior cruciate ligament, the university announced Monday.
He sustained the injury in Saturday’s 67-52 loss to San Diego State at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Carter provided lots of energy off the bench and at 6 feet 9 inches forces the Rebels to go with a smaller lineup. He averages 8.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
UNLV interim coach Todd Simon was unavailable for comment after the university announcement.
