From the guy who brought you “Anchorman,” “Talladega Nights” and “Elf” came a sporting spectacle Thursday.

Throughout the day, actor and comedian Will Ferrell played ball for 10 teams in five spring training baseball games.

The experience will be a part of an HBO special for his comedy website, Funny or Die. The show is set to air later this year.

The memorabilia from the day will be auctioned on mlb.com, and the proceeds will be given to Cancer for College and Stand Up to Cancer.
