A few of my favorite things
Here are a few of my favorite things of 2011:
— A phenomenal Vegan meal at Ubunto in Napa, Ca.
— Last day of the baseball season. What a finish. Will we see one like that again?
— Seeing the Oregon coast for the first time. Playing golf at Bandon Dunes.
— Helping spark a national debate on the meaning of Thanksgiving.
— Favorite quote: "You can monitor it, you can quantify it, and in the end, you can lament it. But you can’t fix it." — Paul Hejmanowski, representing the Mormon Church in the proposal to pipe ground water from Northern Nevada and Utah to Las Vegas.
— Biggest movie relief: The American remake of Stieg Larson’s trilogy "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" was NOT screwed up. Biggest movie disappointment: "Hugo." Favorite movie: "The Artist," followed closely by "Midnight in Paris" and "The Help."
There’s more, of course. But that’s what comes to mind on cup-of-coffee No. 1.
